Fernando Garcia Contreras' coffee comes from the lush hills of El Pital, Huila, where he has crafted a unique and vibrant cup profile. After relocating from Caquetá in 2004 due to the armed conflict, Fernando settled in this fertile region and began cultivating a mix of crops, including coffee. His focus on lesser-known varieties like Tabi and Chiroso has set his farm apart in a region dominated by the Colombia varietal.

Farming Philosophy:
Fernando integrates crop diversification into his farming practices, growing peaches alongside his coffee. This dedication to sustainability extends to protecting the natural watercourses on his farm, leaving the surrounding forest untouched to safeguard the local river ecosystem. His social activism against hydroelectric projects, which threatened both local communities and the environment, reflects his deep commitment to his land and its people.

Tasting Notes:
Fernando's meticulous methods, including a 24-hour cherry rest and 70-hour fermentation, bring out distinct flavors of peach, citrus, and honey, resulting in a clean and bright cup with layered complexity.

Why This Coffee Matters:
This coffee is more than just an exceptional cup—it's a testament to resilience, innovation, and respect for nature. Fernando’s dedication to sustainability and his community makes this coffee a meaningful choice for those who value impact-driven specialty coffee.

Enjoy a taste of El Pital, where Fernando’s commitment to unique varietals and sustainable practices produces coffee that tells a powerful story.
