Rumudamo is grown in the Arbegona district of Sidama — one of the highest-elevation growing areas in all of Ethiopia, sitting between 1,920 and 2,230 metres above sea level. At these altitudes, the cool nights slow cherry development to a crawl, concentrating sweetness and building complex flavour over a long growing season.

The Rumudamo station works with over 600 smallholder farmers, for whom coffee is the main source of livelihood, grown alongside food crops including sugar cane, enset, and spices. Cherries are dried whole on raised beds as a natural process, which gives the cup its characteristic fruit-forward sweetness and rounded body.

This lot comes from Daye Bensa Coffee Export PLC, a family-owned Ethiopian exporter founded by brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo in 1996. Rumudamo lots placed 2nd, 3rd, and 8th in the 2020 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence — a pedigree that speaks for itself. The variety is Ethiopian Heirloom 74158, a JARC selection well-suited to Sidama's terroir and known for producing vivid, clean cup profiles.
